Speech and Language Pathologist
Marissa Gelfand, M.A., CCC-SLP is a licensed speech and language pathologist and member of the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA). She has experience working with children and adolescents with communication disorders including but not limited to, articulation, apraxia, receptive and expressive language, auditory processing, fluency and social skills.
Knowing the importance of early intervention, Mrs. Gelfand has spent many years working with preschoolers in a variety of educational programs. She enjoys collaborating with families and other professionals to help children reach communication and academic success.
Background
Mrs. Gelfand graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and earned her Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology. She has worked in both the public school setting as well as private practice. Her experience working in the public schools has provided her with a strong background in treating school age children and an understanding of services provided within the public school setting. She utilizes this experience to help parents initiate the evaluation process, assist with understanding the services provided within that setting, and collaborate consistently with school staff as an integral member of the child’s team.
