Behaviorist and Early Childhood Specialist
Alyssa Kovacs is a behavioral and early childhood specialist, who has been working with children and their families for over twenty years. She works one-on-one with children in their natural environment as well as provides center-based services and has run many social skills groups. Her main areas of expertise include behavioral, social/emotional, and educational concerns. She uses various methods including behavioral, sensory, and social skills support. She provides a structured plan to suit the individual needs of the child while collaborating with other members of the care team. She understands that each child has differing needs and strengths and works with the child and parents to foster each child’s strengths. Assisting the child in navigating his/her environment successfully allows skills to be learned while diminishing unwanted behaviors. Her main goal is to help children attain skills to be successful in their day to day lives.
Alyssa earned her Master of Science in Education from Hunter College and is certified to teach in both NY and Florida. She holds an additional certificate of Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist and is registered within the Florida Early Steps program. She began her career working as an early childhood educator in NYC. Since then, she has expanded her career as program director at a pediatric therapy center. The collaboration of working with children and therapists provided her with invaluable experience and expertise. Alyssa also offers sleep training sessions and works with families throughout the many stages of sleeping. Her goal is to provide you with the tools for the experience to be successful for you and your child.
