Terri Samuels, Nationally and Internationally certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor, educator, and speaker specializes in counseling children, adolescence, and adults. The Johannesburg, South Africa native spent her formative years in Boca Raton, Florida, and received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University. Terri is a nationally certified mental health counselor and completed her masters in science at Nova Southeastern University. While studying she completed her practicum at the Faulk Center for Counseling, where she was extensively trained in Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, as well as completes an internship in Swaziland, South Africa where she educated adolescents on mental health, while counseling orphans and children with physical disabilities and mental illness. Terri is a Certified Youth Mental Health Specialist and Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional. Terri focuses on holistic treatment and utilizes several modalities in personalizing therapy to ones needs including but not limited to, individual counseling, behavioral interventions, social skills training, couples and family therapy, parent/caregiver education, and group therapy. Terri has provided consultative services to a variety of school personnel, child and family lawyers, and medical professionals. Terri has presented on research relating to the importance of nutrition in children and adolescence for the National Alliance of Mental Illness.
Terri constantly continues her education to broaden her knowledge and has had training on timely topics such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, child-behavioral issues, adolescent struggles, childhood trauma, grief, narcissistic abuse and relationships. Terri understands that clients find themselves suffering in various ways and is able to provide the necessary comfort, support and encouragement to those in their time of need to reach their highest potential.
